[00:00:02] We're always going to have fears, you know, we're always going to fail at things.
[00:00:07] And instead of looking at those things as so negative, it's like, no, what was the opportunity
[00:00:11] in this and where did that take me to where I am now?
[00:00:14] So I love when people are vulnerable and honest because I just think it shows, you
[00:00:18] know, the humanness of someone.
[00:00:26] Welcome to the En Factor, where we talk with entrepreneurs about how they got started,
[00:00:31] how they stumbled and how they succeeded.
[00:00:34] I'm Rebecca White, and today I'm very excited to welcome Megan McShane to our show.
[00:00:41] Megan is a, I think we might call her a life coach, but she can define that a little bit better.
[00:00:49] She is currently the CEO of and founder of Your Best Life Now.
[00:00:55] She had a yoga studio before that and worked for Tony Robbins and so has an extensive
[00:01:02] background in this space.
[00:01:03] And I'm really excited to learn a little bit more about what she does.
[00:01:08] And so Megan, welcome to the show.
[00:01:10] Thank you.
[00:01:11] Thanks so much for having me.
[00:01:12] I'm honored to be here.
[00:01:14] So I was very interested when I was doing a little bit of research on your background.
[00:01:18] I saw that you have a Bachelor of Science in Metaphysics and that's an unusual degree,
[00:01:26] but very interesting.
[00:01:28] So talk to us a little bit about what you're doing right now with Your Best Life Now and
[00:01:35] then sort of how you got into all this.
[00:01:39] Sure.
[00:01:40] Well, I'll start kind of how I ended up where I am today.
[00:01:44] And my background is in personal development.
[00:01:49] I wouldn't call myself a life coach, but I was in that industry and am or have
[00:01:53] been for a very long time.
[00:01:55] So for 13 years, I worked with Tony Robbins and traveled the world and we created world
[00:02:02] class events to really help business owners and entrepreneurs find balance in their
[00:02:09] life, find a peer group.
[00:02:11] I realized in my experience that a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs, although
[00:02:17] they may be successful in their business, they really lacked fulfillment in their life.
[00:02:24] And so I did that for many years and I met some incredible people and went to some beautiful
[00:02:31] places.
[00:02:32] And then during the pandemic, I had a little boy or have a little boy and he was only
[00:02:38] one then.
[00:02:40] And I had been doing 18 events a year and it was just a lot and I had decided
[00:02:45] that I just want to take a step back and focus on my family.
[00:02:50] And I had been a longtime yogi and yoga teacher.
[00:02:53] And that's when I opened my yoga studio.
[00:02:57] And then really within a few months of that, one of my former clients reached out to me
[00:03:02] and said, listen, we want to create no one's traveling.
[00:03:05] It's the pandemic.
[00:03:06] There is a need for connection.
[00:03:08] And that's where we kind of that's where your best life was born.
[00:03:12] So what it is, it's a high level networking group again for business owners and
[00:03:17] entrepreneurs.
[00:03:19] It's basically a membership model.
[00:03:21] So within that membership, they get coaching with their business.
[00:03:26] We have business strategists, personal life strategist, relationships, spirituality,
[00:03:31] health and fitness.
[00:03:33] So they get those sessions.
[00:03:35] And we also do three bucket list trips a year around the world.
[00:03:39] And each trip has a different theme.
[00:03:41] Our four core values are faith, family, fitness and finance.
[00:03:44] And we really believe that when those four things are balancing, then you will find
[00:03:50] fulfillment in your life.
[00:03:51] So it's a really diverse group of individuals.
[00:03:54] We have anything from doctors and dentists, you know, individuals in tech to real
[00:03:59] estate developers and investors.
[00:04:01] But that's the beauty of it.
[00:04:03] You know, it's I realize you don't want to be around people who think like you
[00:04:08] and do the same as you to really get creative and to scale and to look at your
[00:04:13] business with different eyes.
[00:04:15] You need a diverse peer group.
[00:04:17] So we're all about helping one another.
[00:04:21] This group isn't really based on significance.
[00:04:24] They really are looking to grow every area of their life.
[00:04:27] And we're really big about contribution as well.
[00:04:29] So each place that we go to around the world, we take a day where we give
[00:04:33] back to the community and we like to leave it better than it was when we
[00:04:37] got there.
[00:04:39] That is fascinating.
[00:04:40] And you're right, not a life coach as much as a community that you've built
[00:04:45] there.
[00:04:46] So that's really exciting.
[00:04:49] And it started and it came out of the pandemic.
[00:04:51] Yeah.
[00:04:52] So yeah, that's, you know, during the pandemic, I think there were a lot of
[00:04:58] new business concepts that were developed and something that we maybe all
[00:05:04] been needing and wanting.
[00:05:05] And sometimes that's what happens, right?
[00:05:09] Or often that's what happens when we go through stress.
[00:05:11] It's so true because I remember leaving my career.
[00:05:14] There was a lot of uncertainty and it was like, oh, my gosh, I'm just
[00:05:17] going to leave this and open a little yoga studio.
[00:05:21] But it's really about having faith and really letting go of that fear.
[00:05:28] We're always going to have a little bit of fear.
[00:05:30] We're human beings.
[00:05:31] But it's kind of embracing it and seeing it as an opportunity.
[00:05:36] And I think that really helps people get through different challenges and
[00:05:40] look at it, you know, don't have an expectation of things, really just
[00:05:43] have more of an appreciation and you'll grow in different ways.
[00:05:48] That's great.
[00:05:49] I love it.
[00:05:50] Now, you know, let's go back a little bit to sort of how you got here
[00:05:55] because I always loved, you know, you talked about the most recent
[00:05:59] opportunity, the one that you're working on now.
[00:06:02] But if I look back at your background, you were there in Sedona, which is a
[00:06:05] very, very sort of spiritual place, I think, in many ways, and you
[00:06:11] studied metaphysics.
[00:06:13] What led you down that path?
[00:06:14] Was that just personal exploration?
[00:06:17] Yeah, I mean, that really started, I mean, from a young age, I always
[00:06:22] I always had a drive to want to help people.
[00:06:24] And, you know, in my early 20s, my background was sales and marketing.
[00:06:29] And then my dad was a college hockey coach.
[00:06:33] And when we grew up, we always listened to Tony Robbins tapes
[00:06:36] and things like that.
[00:06:37] And then he sent my brother and I to one of his events.
[00:06:39] And I thought, oh, my gosh, I really need to be part of this
[00:06:42] this mission, you know, and with my background in sales, I
[00:06:46] I found a way to connect with the right people.
[00:06:48] And then I started off, you know, selling tickets to events
[00:06:52] and things like that.
[00:06:53] And then I started traveling with him.
[00:06:54] And then I, you know, was on his executive team for many years.
[00:06:58] And, you know, the metaphysics part, it was, you know, I think
[00:07:06] for me, you know, when I started doing yoga, because I was always
[00:07:09] like a type A, like go, go, go, go, go, you know, entrepreneur,
[00:07:13] like, I got to get things done.
[00:07:14] And someone suggested, like, you should try yoga.
[00:07:17] And I was like, oh, that's so boring.
[00:07:18] And but I went and I thought, wow, I mean, I feel so good after this.
[00:07:23] I feel a sense of peace, calmness.
[00:07:26] And I wanted to learn more.
[00:07:27] And that's when I did my yoga teacher training and and
[00:07:32] and I wasn't even planning on being a teacher.
[00:07:34] I just really I love learning new things.
[00:07:36] So and in that time frame is where I really got tapped
[00:07:41] into my spirituality, too.
[00:07:42] And that's, you know, where the metaphysics came from,
[00:07:44] because I loved how it was, you know, Christian based.
[00:07:47] But it's also universal energy and connectedness.
[00:07:50] And I think, you know, that's a big part of success.
[00:07:54] You know, having faith and really believing, you know,
[00:07:57] that everything that happens is, you know, divine timing and seeing these
[00:08:01] sometimes challenges as real gifts.
[00:08:03] And if you look at it as a different perspective,
[00:08:06] then you won't have so much of that fear or, you know,
[00:08:09] I meet a lot of business owners and entrepreneurs
[00:08:12] and especially a lot of women that, you know, they they're afraid to try,
[00:08:16] you know, start a business or afraid to, you know, step into the unknown.
[00:08:20] But I think, you know, when you really have faith
[00:08:23] and you also take the time to find your self-worth and confidence,
[00:08:27] then that that eases that.
[00:08:30] Yeah, yeah, I I wrote a book a few years back,
[00:08:33] actually during the pandemic, and identified after years of research
[00:08:38] the three competencies of an entrepreneurial mindset.
[00:08:42] And it's recognizing opportunity,
[00:08:45] taking action and executing past failure.
[00:08:48] And that resilience piece is often the big differentiator.
[00:08:52] And and that's where I see a lot of the work that you do
[00:08:56] coming into play. Yeah, absolutely.
[00:09:00] So this is really, really interesting.
[00:09:03] Did you grow up with a family of entrepreneurs?
[00:09:06] Did you always want to be an entrepreneur?
[00:09:07] No, you know, I mean, my my mother was a nurse and my father,
[00:09:11] like I said, was a college hockey coach, a very successful one.
[00:09:14] And so I kind of had, you know, the best of both worlds.
[00:09:19] You know, my mom was more laid back and a little hippie.
[00:09:22] And my dad was very more structured.
[00:09:25] So, you know, I had a great childhood, a great education.
[00:09:31] And I never thought I was going to own my own business or any of that.
[00:09:36] I just I I did know from an early age, though,
[00:09:39] that I didn't want to just work to have a job.
[00:09:43] I wanted it had to have meaning to me and had to have purpose.
[00:09:47] And I think that that really helps as well.
[00:09:50] If you know, if you're just going to work every day, it's it's,
[00:09:53] you know, you kind of lose that that.
[00:09:56] And, you know, we have two kids and we raise them as, you know,
[00:10:01] money is a tool, you know, we don't want them to feel like, OK,
[00:10:03] you got to go to school and college and go work until, you know,
[00:10:06] you're in your 60s and then you can enjoy life.
[00:10:09] So I think it's we're really blessed.
[00:10:12] I've been blessed to be around people with that mindset.
[00:10:15] And I think that's what got me to where I am.
[00:10:17] I know that's the people that I met.
[00:10:20] You know, you never know who you're going to meet,
[00:10:21] who's going to open an opportunity for you.
[00:10:24] And that's kind of, you know,
[00:10:26] I just kind of followed the patterns of what I liked
[00:10:29] and then learning the things that I learned on business.
[00:10:32] And things kind of just doors opened, you know.
[00:10:36] Yeah, absolutely.
[00:10:38] And you bring up learning, which is actually one of the skills
[00:10:41] that I talk about and devote an entire chapter to in my book,
[00:10:46] because entrepreneurs are constantly experimenting and learning.
[00:10:50] And so you you parlayed that into your career.
[00:10:54] And yeah, and even part of our program, you know, like I said,
[00:10:57] each one of our trips we have,
[00:11:00] you know, we always have a guest speaker.
[00:11:02] So, you know, we just,
[00:11:05] you know, last year we had a faith trip that was one of our core
[00:11:08] when we went to Peru, Machu Picchu and Gabby Bernstein was our speaker.
[00:11:12] So we have like every morning three hours of solid content
[00:11:15] where you're learning and then you go and network and connect.
[00:11:20] And then we have these incredible excursions and dining experiences.
[00:11:24] You know, we went to Rwanda last year.
[00:11:26] That was a family relationship trip.
[00:11:28] And we had John Gray with us who wrote, you know, men are from Mars,
[00:11:31] women are from Venus.
[00:11:32] And, you know, to have that one on one time with these teachers,
[00:11:36] you know, it's beautiful. It's such a gift to learn, you know.
[00:11:39] And I really feel like everyone needs a tribe, you know, everyone needs
[00:11:43] if you want to be successful at something, then you need to either
[00:11:45] hang around people who are doing it better than you
[00:11:48] or find a group that's really going to push you to the next level.
[00:11:52] Yeah, I think that's really important.
[00:11:54] I think one of my friends used to say her mom always said,
[00:11:57] you know, I know who you are, but the people you hang around.
[00:12:00] You know, we say that all the time.
[00:12:02] It's like the five people you hang around with, we can tell you,
[00:12:04] you know, what your health is, what your finances are.
[00:12:07] You know, it is. It's so true.
[00:12:10] So talk to me a little bit more about when you came out of school,
[00:12:14] you went to work for somebody else.
[00:12:16] And so how helpful was it to have those experiences of working
[00:12:21] for somebody else before you started your own businesses?
[00:12:26] I think, you know, I don't think there's any right or wrong way to do it in life.
[00:12:30] I just think for me, you know, when I got out of school, I worked
[00:12:34] for a small business and then I worked for a big corporation, Cisco.
[00:12:38] And then from there, but on the side,
[00:12:40] I always liked to do the personal development stuff.
[00:12:43] So I think, you know, it's like when you find someone who's doing,
[00:12:48] like I said, what you love, then that's what you want to really mirror,
[00:12:51] because especially people who've been successful at it,
[00:12:54] success leaves clues.
[00:12:55] And I take it as a compliment when someone's like, oh, you know,
[00:12:59] I love your yoga studio or I love the way you guys do this.
[00:13:01] And I want to do that.
[00:13:03] You know, there's there's there's plenty of prosperity for everyone.
[00:13:06] And, you know, instead of having this competition of like,
[00:13:09] no, you have to choose this one or that one.
[00:13:11] It's like, you know, I think it's actually a real honor
[00:13:15] when people want to, you know, to to to follow you
[00:13:19] and to really see, especially if you've been successful,
[00:13:21] what you've done to have you as a mentor.
[00:13:24] And that's what, you know, our group's all about is mentorship.
[00:13:27] Yeah. And I hear the abundance mindset there that you're talking about.
[00:13:32] Yeah, absolutely. You know,
[00:13:35] it's it's when you have that mindset, I think, you know, it really, again,
[00:13:40] you you move away from that fear and you have a sense of gratitude.
[00:13:45] And that's just going to, you know, build and build and build.
[00:13:48] Yeah. And and you bring up fear.
[00:13:50] And there are definitely a lot of fears associated with being an entrepreneur.
[00:13:53] It takes it takes courage and bravery to step out
[00:13:57] and sort of an optimistic perspective,
[00:14:00] a belief that that, you know, you can make a difference in the world.
[00:14:05] And and you mentioned that to that passion as well.
[00:14:08] So let's talk a little bit about building companies and you.
[00:14:15] If I understand you correctly, you started some what might be called
[00:14:18] side hustles originally, like your first forays into business ownership,
[00:14:22] were they while you were working for somebody else or did you
[00:14:27] was it more just interest and study?
[00:14:30] And, you know, I didn't I didn't start my own first business
[00:14:33] until my yoga studio during the I started that in a pandemic, too.
[00:14:37] So I and then the same with Your Best Life.
[00:14:40] You know, I was running my yoga studio, but, you know,
[00:14:43] creating this on the side.
[00:14:44] So, you know, I I will say, though,
[00:14:49] you know, at one point I was doing both now.
[00:14:51] I just my primary focus is on your best life.
[00:14:54] And it is it's it takes a lot of grit.
[00:14:57] It takes a lot of hustle.
[00:14:58] You know, I don't know one entrepreneur that's been like,
[00:15:02] oh, it just landed in my lap.
[00:15:03] You know, so you really got to have thick skin.
[00:15:06] But if you again, if you have the confidence,
[00:15:09] if you have the self worth, like, you know, the sky really is the limit
[00:15:14] because there's so many opportunities out there in every kind of business.
[00:15:18] I mean, I see people, you know, succeeding in things that you'd be like,
[00:15:22] how is that even successful?
[00:15:24] You know, it's like these little gadgets and things like that.
[00:15:26] So there's so much opportunity out there.
[00:15:28] But yeah, I mean, I think to begin,
[00:15:30] especially if someone is working for a company and they want to break free,
[00:15:36] you know, I would like, you know, stay where you're at until you're ready.
[00:15:39] Or if you are in a situation to just burn the boats, then go for it.
[00:15:43] But it is, you know, it can be scary.
[00:15:47] You know, talking about that, I mean, I'm seeing more and more
[00:15:50] of the entrepreneurs that I talk to that are starting with a side hustle.
[00:15:55] You know, they're testing it out, so to speak.
[00:15:57] So let's talk about you started your yoga studio
[00:16:01] and and your best life now.
[00:16:04] I think it's your best life now.
[00:16:08] During the pandemic, let's can we talk a little bit about what led you
[00:16:12] to sort of recognize the opportunity?
[00:16:15] The yoga studio may be a little more obvious.
[00:16:18] Yeah. But with your best life now,
[00:16:21] you know, what what what helped you see an opportunity for this?
[00:16:26] What what dots did you connect?
[00:16:28] Yeah. Well, I think with my experience, you know,
[00:16:32] when I worked for Tony Robbins, my my last role there was I managed
[00:16:37] he had a group called Platinum Partners, and they were business owners
[00:16:40] and entrepreneurs that would pay a yearly fee to travel with him,
[00:16:44] to coach with him.
[00:16:45] And it was a beautiful program. It was amazing.
[00:16:49] But I also saw some some gaps where there was a need.
[00:16:53] And I think when you find, you know,
[00:16:56] you want to be the solution to someone's problem,
[00:16:59] you know, that's what your business is.
[00:17:01] So through my experience, I found certain things, you know,
[00:17:05] that that people were looking for that didn't get in different environments.
[00:17:10] So when the opportunity came to me, it was actually really incredible.
[00:17:15] Like I said, it was one of my previous clients from that environment.
[00:17:19] And like I said, they weren't traveling.
[00:17:22] And when he asked me to come on board, I was a little reluctant
[00:17:24] because I was like, listen, I can't do that, you know,
[00:17:27] 18 times a year travel thing. I have a family and I'm really trying to.
[00:17:31] I was I needed to get out of the rat race because I was go, go,
[00:17:34] go for so many years.
[00:17:36] Like you talk about the hustle, right?
[00:17:37] And it was just I was a bit burnt out.
[00:17:40] And he said, no, Megan, like you can create this.
[00:17:44] And that to me was a beautiful gift because it gave me an opportunity
[00:17:49] to create, you know, all the things that I saw that there was a need for.
[00:17:53] That's how we built this.
[00:17:54] You know, that's why we we do three or four trips a year.
[00:17:57] That's why we do, you know, we keep the group,
[00:18:00] you know, at 100 people so that you can really meet people
[00:18:03] and network with the connect them with them.
[00:18:04] So it's not, you know, thousands of people that you're never going to get to me.
[00:18:07] You know, we these excursions and these places that we go to,
[00:18:11] we give people time to fill up their cup where it's not like
[00:18:14] they're sitting in a conference center for 20 hours a day
[00:18:16] and not being able to meet other people.
[00:18:18] So, you know, and we're also an inclusive group.
[00:18:21] So, you know, it's not just the member, it's their spouse
[00:18:25] or business partner or family are all a part of it so that they're growing together.
[00:18:31] So do most people join?
[00:18:33] You said most of the people that join are business owners,
[00:18:35] so they join their business, they join as a business.
[00:18:38] Well, typically the business owner will join and then, you know,
[00:18:41] their spouse will will be a member as well so they can get the coaching.
[00:18:45] They can come on the trips.
[00:18:47] But we also do, you know, weekly calls
[00:18:50] where it's, you know, we we can go where people's teams can come on.
[00:18:54] And listen, especially if we're doing different, you know,
[00:18:57] you know, building skills on businesses, whether it's, you know, culture
[00:19:00] or strategic negotiation or, you know, sales and marketing or different,
[00:19:05] you know, things, different speakers we have on every week.
[00:19:08] So, you know, they're invited to have their teams come on too,
[00:19:10] because that's what you really want to create as a culture.
[00:19:13] And you want to get your SOP's in place, your job descriptions in place
[00:19:17] so that you are not an operator, you are an owner
[00:19:20] and that your company is, you know, working for you.
[00:19:23] You know, you don't have to be there 24 7.
[00:19:26] Right. Now, you've mentioned that you started this during the pandemic,
[00:19:30] but you also mentioned traveling.
[00:19:32] So did this did this concept evolve from mostly being remote
[00:19:37] to have to now being hybrid?
[00:19:40] No, we always knew.
[00:19:41] I mean, I always in my career, you know, it's so funny.
[00:19:44] Everyone now is like, oh, I work from home.
[00:19:45] I always, you know, when I worked for Tony Robbins,
[00:19:48] we were everyone we worked remote and besides the travel.
[00:19:52] So to me, it was like, you know, nothing really new.
[00:19:55] And the travel, it was not it was a that was a major factor for it.
[00:20:00] You know, that's what we noticed people missed during the pandemic
[00:20:03] is the human connection.
[00:20:04] And there was so much fear, you know, so many people were like,
[00:20:07] no, I have to stay home.
[00:20:08] But there were a group of people who said, no, I still I want to live my life.
[00:20:12] I want to be around people.
[00:20:14] So those are the people that we, you know, those are our clients.
[00:20:18] Those are our people.
[00:20:19] And we still travel.
[00:20:21] We, you know, we put on some great events during the pandemic.
[00:20:24] So that was that was definitely a big chunk of it was people
[00:20:28] needed that human connection.
[00:20:31] Now, so is it now?
[00:20:34] So I'm assuming there are other kinds of networking events outside of travel.
[00:20:40] Are some of those done remotely or how?
[00:20:43] Oh, they it's designed.
[00:20:45] Like I said, we have people do their, you know, their weekly coaching
[00:20:48] with their strategist.
[00:20:49] Then we also do once a week, we call them speaker spotlights,
[00:20:53] where we bring in top experts from the industry, whether again, it's business,
[00:20:57] whether it's relationships, whether it's health and vitality.
[00:21:00] And they come on and we do an hour call every Thursday
[00:21:03] from 1030 to 1130 Eastern.
[00:21:05] You're more than welcome to ever come on as my guest
[00:21:07] and your listeners as well.
[00:21:09] And, you know, that's where they connect as well.
[00:21:12] And then every Friday, we also do a one to two hour
[00:21:16] business breakout session where to my other two business partners,
[00:21:21] they really focus on the business side.
[00:21:24] And so people can join those calls too.
[00:21:26] Now, some people, if they miss them, we have, you know,
[00:21:28] everything's recorded.
[00:21:29] So they have a whole library of content.
[00:21:32] But we have, you know, members all over the country.
[00:21:35] So, you know, they they tend to, you know, we have a big group in Texas.
[00:21:38] So they'll meet up, you know, for dinner here and there.
[00:21:41] And then other people on the East Coast will meet up.
[00:21:43] So they're they're connected with each other.
[00:21:46] But for for our, you know, the programs we design are those three to four trips
[00:21:51] a year. And then we also do, you know, the weekly calls.
[00:21:55] Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:56] So, you know, there are some there are some competitors out there.
[00:22:01] And every entrepreneur has to think about that.
[00:22:03] So how does this differentiate from a lot of the other CEO forums
[00:22:08] and and organizations that have been around for a long time
[00:22:12] that many business owners join for for the purpose of networking and support?
[00:22:18] I think I know the difference in us just because, you know,
[00:22:22] my background of being in different, you know,
[00:22:24] self-development groups and whatnot.
[00:22:26] What I've seen is, you know, it seems like the term life coach
[00:22:31] and things like that.
[00:22:32] Everyone's one of those now, and it's thrown around so easily.
[00:22:35] I think you can like go online and become a life coach or something.
[00:22:38] And our strategists, these are
[00:22:42] these are people who've been in the industry 20, 30 plus years.
[00:22:45] These are people who own their own businesses, you know, six, seven, eight figure companies.
[00:22:50] So they are really walking their talk.
[00:22:52] So our clients get coached by the best of the best.
[00:22:56] And like I said, our events, I have an events team that they put on
[00:23:01] the best events in the world.
[00:23:02] I don't hesitate to say that at all.
[00:23:04] Our clients just have to show up and we take care of everything else from,
[00:23:08] you know, picking you up to every touch point in your hotel, to your dining experience.
[00:23:13] And you get to do things on our trips that you wouldn't get to do
[00:23:17] if you went away by yourself because we get so creative and make it so unique
[00:23:21] that it is a bucket list experience.
[00:23:24] Yeah. Well, it sounds it sounds wonderful.
[00:23:27] And I'm sure it's a fun job for you to have because you get to go
[00:23:33] on many of these, I'm sure.
[00:23:34] Yeah, I go on all of them.
[00:23:35] Yep. You mentioned four trips a year.
[00:23:38] Do they do they correspond with the four F's?
[00:23:41] Each trip has a different theme, faith, fitness, family and finance.
[00:23:44] So we just got back a few weeks ago from Dubai, where we did our finance trip
[00:23:49] or we brought in a few financial experts from around the world
[00:23:52] who taught everyone the content piece was, you know,
[00:23:55] where the economies are going, what you should be investing in.
[00:23:58] And then now we're getting ready actually to do a fitness trip,
[00:24:02] which it will be it's going to be physical where physical fitness meets emotional
[00:24:07] fitness. And that's going to be in Sedona in May.
[00:24:10] And then we'll cap out our year in Italy in September.
[00:24:13] And that will be our faith trip.
[00:24:15] That that's exciting. Where will you be in Italy?
[00:24:17] We are going to do Rome and we will do the Amalfi Coast.
[00:24:21] So we're going to do a.
[00:24:23] I was just this time last year, I was doing a teaching
[00:24:28] visiting professorship at the University of Salerno right at the Amalfi Coast.
[00:24:32] So I know it well.
[00:24:34] Italy is in my opinion, I mean, I've been a few times and I'm just like,
[00:24:37] it never gets old.
[00:24:39] No, it doesn't.
[00:24:41] That'll be a wonderful time.
[00:24:42] That's something I'd love to do.
[00:24:44] Yeah. So let's talk a little bit about building brands,
[00:24:48] because in today's world, there is so much
[00:24:54] noise, if you will, out there.
[00:24:56] And of course, you worked with Tony Robbins,
[00:24:59] who has been a master of brand building,
[00:25:02] you know, prior to, you know, the world that we have today,
[00:25:07] the connectivity that we have today.
[00:25:09] But could you talk a little bit about how entrepreneurs
[00:25:13] can think about building brand?
[00:25:15] Absolutely. I think I think what every entrepreneur really needs to do
[00:25:20] is, you know, first create their ideal client avatar.
[00:25:23] You know, who are you?
[00:25:25] Who is this person?
[00:25:26] You know, we've done this a number of times and it's like, you know,
[00:25:29] we have down to, you know, the age of this person,
[00:25:33] what kind of books they read, you know, hobbies they do.
[00:25:35] I mean, you really have to get so clear on identifying
[00:25:39] who your ideal client is.
[00:25:41] And that's how you build your brand.
[00:25:42] You know, that's how you do your digital marketing.
[00:25:44] That's how you create your programs and your content.
[00:25:48] And, you know, even when we built our website,
[00:25:50] you know, we went through a really in-depth process of,
[00:25:56] you know, everything to, you know, what our ideal client,
[00:25:58] the colors that they look at, but, you know,
[00:26:00] the things that they're drawn to, you know,
[00:26:03] because some people just go out there and are like,
[00:26:05] let me just, you know, throw this out here and see if it sticks.
[00:26:08] And it's like, no, you really you have to get so clear
[00:26:11] on who you're targeting and who your ideal client is
[00:26:14] and really build your brand around that.
[00:26:18] Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
[00:26:19] I taught a graduate level branding and marketing class last semester,
[00:26:23] and that's where we started.
[00:26:24] So I'm excited to hear you say that.
[00:26:27] Now, here's a question for you.
[00:26:29] What do you recommend to the entrepreneur
[00:26:31] who's sitting out there saying,
[00:26:33] but I've got multiple audiences that I believe could use my product
[00:26:39] or might want my product.
[00:26:41] And that's what I ran into with all my students.
[00:26:43] They really struggled with making that choice.
[00:26:47] Some people are still in their head and thinking what they think,
[00:26:51] you know, what they want.
[00:26:52] And it's like this isn't about you.
[00:26:54] This is about your client.
[00:26:55] You know, if you if you're your ideal client, well, then that's fine.
[00:26:58] But, you know, you have to narrow it down because, you know,
[00:27:03] you can always expand from where you start.
[00:27:06] But if you're going like throwing a huge umbrella out there,
[00:27:10] it's going to be really hard to identify, you know,
[00:27:13] your KPIs and things like that.
[00:27:15] So, you know, when people say, you know, oh, what I have is for everybody.
[00:27:20] Well, we all feel like that.
[00:27:21] You know what I mean?
[00:27:22] Because we're so passionate about what we do.
[00:27:24] But I think, you know, you really have to again,
[00:27:27] it's that ideal client avatar.
[00:27:29] You have to figure out who this person is.
[00:27:32] And, you know, like people say, well, it's so diverse.
[00:27:36] Well, it's when it comes to marketing, you know, it's it's
[00:27:39] you have to be really specific, like, you know, especially nowadays,
[00:27:43] everything, you know, from Google ads, like that's what they look at.
[00:27:47] You know, it's it's not just like everybody.
[00:27:49] You got to get really specific.
[00:27:51] And I think people sometimes who are confused with that,
[00:27:54] they need to take some time, you know, whether it's in meditation or writing
[00:27:58] to get their ideas out, because I think there's still a blockage
[00:28:02] if they're still very like thinking too big, too soon.
[00:28:05] You really got to get clear on your outcomes.
[00:28:09] Now, do you?
[00:28:11] So there are a lot of different reasons to pursue a market.
[00:28:16] One might be because they have indicated an interest in testing that you've done.
[00:28:23] Another might be because they've got bigger bucks than somebody else.
[00:28:27] Another might be that they're more accessible.
[00:28:30] Is there a priority in any of those or in your mind?
[00:28:34] I think it's it's kind of like, you know, baking a cake.
[00:28:38] You need all different things, right?
[00:28:40] Like, it's like, you know, you need your digital marketing.
[00:28:42] You need your social media for brand awareness.
[00:28:44] You know, you still need, you know, face to face human connection.
[00:28:49] So I think, you know, there I don't for what we do,
[00:28:53] I don't feel like it's like, oh, we just do this one thing and this works.
[00:28:57] You know, I think especially for brand awareness, you know,
[00:28:59] like we our program is a high ticket program.
[00:29:02] So we can't just like post things on our social media
[00:29:05] and typically get a client to buy off of a post.
[00:29:09] So, you know, I think but you need that.
[00:29:11] You do need that, though, for your brand, you know?
[00:29:14] So I think there's you need you need a little bit of everything
[00:29:19] to really get the perfect, you know, to get the success.
[00:29:24] Yeah. And and so so when you're if somebody's out there
[00:29:29] listening and they're trying to create a digital brand and they're an entrepreneur,
[00:29:34] how important is it for them as as people, you know,
[00:29:39] Megan McShane to have a digital brand versus your best life now?
[00:29:44] Is that is it important for both or does one take priority over the other?
[00:29:50] Or does that depend on the business?
[00:29:51] I think it depends on the business.
[00:29:52] Like if you're selling yourself, if you are the business, well, then,
[00:29:56] yeah, you have to focus on yourself.
[00:29:58] But if you're selling, you know, a tangible thing,
[00:30:02] well, then it's not about you.
[00:30:03] I mean, I think, you know, you should be a strong business owner and really,
[00:30:07] you know, represent your brand well and be in alignment with it.
[00:30:12] But, you know, I think if you're selling yourself, absolutely.
[00:30:16] But if you're selling a product, then that's that's that's the brand.
[00:30:20] Yeah. You know, I find it kind of interesting today because,
[00:30:25] you know, I get this from my team that people want more
[00:30:31] want us to be more vulnerable, to put more of ourselves out there.
[00:30:36] I agree. Do you do you think people look at businesses that way now?
[00:30:40] And they're like, I want to know something about this.
[00:30:43] Yeah, I do. I think you're right, Rebecca.
[00:30:45] I think I think people, you know, like I said, they crave connection.
[00:30:50] And I think sometimes our society has taught us to,
[00:30:54] you know, just go out there and be strong and, you know, especially,
[00:30:58] especially women. It's like, you know, we live in this world where it's like,
[00:31:02] you got to be like a man to run a business, where it's like, no, we don't.
[00:31:05] Actually, like, you know, so many women becoming more masculine
[00:31:09] and losing their femininity because they think that that's what they need to do.
[00:31:12] Where really, their femininity is where the power is.
[00:31:15] And I think, you know, people can connect with vulnerability
[00:31:20] because then you feel like, oh, my gosh, I'm not alone here.
[00:31:22] Like they have struggles, too.
[00:31:24] And that's that's life. And that's the beauty.
[00:31:26] If we, you know, we're all just honest instead of pretending
[00:31:30] like everything's so great and easy and it just, you know, comes,
[00:31:33] it's like, that's not real, though.
[00:31:34] You know, like we talked about earlier, it's like we're always going to have fears.
[00:31:39] You know, we're always going to fail at things.
[00:31:42] And instead of looking at those things as so negative, it's like, no,
[00:31:45] what was the opportunity in this and where did that take me to where I am now?
[00:31:49] So I love when people are vulnerable and honest
[00:31:51] because I just think it shows, you know, the humanness of someone.
[00:31:56] Yeah, I think we're living in a world where we crave authenticity
[00:31:59] because there there's so there's such a lack of it.
[00:32:04] They're totally, especially with social media now and our kids.
[00:32:07] It's like it's scary.
[00:32:09] It's like, you know, people don't even want to look like themselves.
[00:32:12] You know, it's like, you know, an an A.I.
[00:32:15] It's, you know, we're moving further and further away.
[00:32:19] Of, you know, the basics, you know, and these things are all beautiful gifts.
[00:32:23] You know, we can, of course, utilize them.
[00:32:25] They're innovative and everything.
[00:32:27] But I think, you know, I think being real can get you a lot further than,
[00:32:32] you know, covering it up and trying to fit in.
[00:32:35] Right, right.
[00:32:36] And and, you know, I think the beauty is often in in the diversity.
[00:32:40] And if we all try to be alike and perfect.
[00:32:43] Yeah. My mom.
[00:32:45] Yeah, my mom was an artist and she she was.
[00:32:47] She always said, you know, a straight line isn't very.
[00:32:50] No, it's not.
[00:32:52] And like you said, you know, we said earlier, it's like, I don't know.
[00:32:55] I love being around different people because I learn so much.
[00:32:58] You know, I mean, if I just want to be around people like me,
[00:33:01] I could just be by myself.
[00:33:04] Exactly.
[00:33:05] I think and it gets you to become more creative and artistic
[00:33:08] when you're really around different people.
[00:33:10] You know, you think a different way.
[00:33:12] And that's the beauty of life.
[00:33:14] You know, that's why, you know, travel and everything.
[00:33:15] It's so incredible to see different cultures and see how they interact
[00:33:20] and see how they're successful or, you know, what works for them.
[00:33:23] Like it's it's there's so much out there to learn from
[00:33:26] instead of saying in a little bubble.
[00:33:29] Yeah, yeah.
[00:33:31] That's you know, I love innovation, but I also love tradition
[00:33:35] because tradition is kind of what keeps us grounded.
[00:33:38] So it's like a perfect mix.
[00:33:40] You know, it's a balance.
[00:33:42] It's yes, it's the roots and the wings kind of
[00:33:45] as a parent that we always try out,
[00:33:48] trying to establish for our children.
[00:33:50] So, you know, as you've as an entrepreneur who's building companies
[00:33:55] and building this network or community, I'm going to call it.
[00:34:00] I don't know what the best word is, but I'm going to call it community.
[00:34:04] One of the one of the important skills
[00:34:07] for an entrepreneur is to be able to network.
[00:34:12] You know, it's been said that your network is your net worth.
[00:34:14] And, you know, we all know the importance of that.
[00:34:18] And you mentioned some sometimes the difference between men and women.
[00:34:22] And there's a lot of research out there about women
[00:34:25] and some of the struggles they have with networking, but men do as well.
[00:34:30] So my question for you is you're you've built this community.
[00:34:35] So so I'm sure you've given thought to networking
[00:34:40] and and best practice there for an entrepreneur,
[00:34:43] because it's often a trade off between how much time can I invest
[00:34:50] in going to events and experiencing time with other people
[00:34:54] versus I've got to deal with the day to day operation of my business.
[00:34:58] So how do you suggest people think about networking?
[00:35:03] Well, I think, you know, that's most business owners
[00:35:06] and entrepreneurs biggest struggle is they say I don't have enough time
[00:35:09] because I have to be in my company all the time.
[00:35:12] Well, what we provide is actually, you know, you're working with business
[00:35:15] strategists that are teaching you how to, like I said earlier,
[00:35:20] move from that business operator mindset into an owner so that,
[00:35:24] you know, you're hiring the right people that are running your company
[00:35:28] so that you know, we always try to teach people,
[00:35:30] especially people who just starting companies.
[00:35:32] It's like you want to start your company like you're going to sell it.
[00:35:35] And, you know, some people get so scared.
[00:35:38] They're like, oh, my gosh, no, I can't sell.
[00:35:39] But that's really, you know, that's what you want.
[00:35:41] You want to create something.
[00:35:42] You want to build it, scale it, sell it, you know, and continue on.
[00:35:47] And, you know, for me, I've been successful
[00:35:51] because of my team and the culture we created.
[00:35:53] I hire people who are better than me at things that I'm not good at.
[00:35:57] And it gives me the opportunity to create
[00:36:00] and do things as an entrepreneur like you should.
[00:36:03] You know, if you're a business, if you need to be in your business every day,
[00:36:08] you have you can't, you know, you need to join a networking group
[00:36:13] or get a coach because, you know, so many people, they're like,
[00:36:17] oh, I don't have enough time with my wife or my family and my kids.
[00:36:20] All I do is work.
[00:36:21] And that it does not have to be like that.
[00:36:24] And I think a lot of people, it's like how much more time
[00:36:27] are you going to waste living that life?
[00:36:28] So you have to kind of cut the cord at some point and take a risk.
[00:36:33] The great thing about our programs, like I said,
[00:36:35] we do three or four trips a year and not everyone goes on every trip.
[00:36:38] But if you can get on a couple of trips, you know, you get your coaching,
[00:36:42] then you're going to move out of that mindset of operator into owner quicker.
[00:36:46] And you're also the key thing is you're going to be around people
[00:36:50] who are doing what you want and better.
[00:36:52] So, you know, it's going to you're going to learn things
[00:36:55] so that your company is running without you having to be there
[00:36:58] seven days a week, 24 7.
[00:37:00] You know, you got to have a lot of SOPs in place.
[00:37:02] You know, you got to have, you know, have your dashboards and be able to,
[00:37:05] you know, what you, you know, if you're not,
[00:37:08] you know, you can't manage what you don't measure.
[00:37:11] So, you know, if you don't have some some optics in place,
[00:37:15] you know, you really got to get organized and clear because time,
[00:37:19] you know, time means more than money.
[00:37:22] Yeah, yeah, that's so, so true.
[00:37:24] And I think that's the one thing, you know, I've always said,
[00:37:27] if somebody steals my money, I'm not happy.
[00:37:29] But if they steal my time, it's even worse.
[00:37:31] Me too. And yeah, I mean, it's like, you know,
[00:37:37] I mean, it really is the time thing is just it's it's a no brainer.
[00:37:40] And the quicker you do it now, you know, so many people are just like,
[00:37:45] especially business owners or entrepreneurs, they're so they have
[00:37:47] so much responsibility on their plate of taking care of other people,
[00:37:50] taking care of, you know, feeding families and payroll and all these things.
[00:37:54] And the beauty of these trips is to like, you got to fill your own cup
[00:37:58] so that you can go back and be a better leader in your in your business,
[00:38:02] in your family, in your community.
[00:38:05] You know, so many people get so burnt out and I get it.
[00:38:07] I've been there.
[00:38:08] And, you know, you really have to take a step back and reset.
[00:38:13] So let's talk one of your EPSIS finance.
[00:38:16] So a lot of entrepreneurs also say, well, I don't have enough time,
[00:38:21] but I also need more money.
[00:38:23] And money is always much easier to get when you don't need it.
[00:38:27] Did you have you ever had to go through funding or do you
[00:38:32] do you have some thoughts to share maybe that have come from
[00:38:36] some of the work that you've done there
[00:38:39] about helping entrepreneurs think about funding their business,
[00:38:43] you know, whether they choose to do it through product sales and customers
[00:38:47] or raising money. Yeah, I think, you know, me personally,
[00:38:50] I have not had to go through that personally.
[00:38:54] However, we do offer it with our clients and our coaching.
[00:38:58] And, you know, one of my business partners,
[00:39:02] he was in the banking world for a long time and he just talks about it.
[00:39:05] It's about relationships again, you know, go to your,
[00:39:09] you know, your local bank or whoever you deal with.
[00:39:11] You have to get a relationship with people because that's how you're going
[00:39:15] to start building, you know, especially if you do need funding
[00:39:19] from banks and whatnot, then, you know, start getting relationships
[00:39:23] with them. And also, you know, you know, we have a big,
[00:39:28] you know, I have a lot of contacts that that are investors.
[00:39:31] So they do like investing in new products and new ideas.
[00:39:35] So if you also have like a product that, you know, there's a need for
[00:39:39] there are people out there that will invest in you
[00:39:42] and then to support you on the financial side.
[00:39:44] So again, I think it's the relationship building.
[00:39:47] So whether you need to get funded by a bank and our loans,
[00:39:52] that's all about relationships.
[00:39:54] And, you know, they'll start off small, obviously, but those will build over time.
[00:39:58] And the same with getting investors to invest in your product, in your company.
[00:40:02] It's all about connections.
[00:40:03] And again, that's even, you know, being part of a peer group,
[00:40:07] a networking group, you'll meet people like that.
[00:40:09] So the more, you know, and I'm not just saying our peer group,
[00:40:12] there's so many of them out there.
[00:40:13] You got to find what which one works best for you and what you're looking for.
[00:40:17] Yeah. And and you funded your businesses
[00:40:20] basically through sales customers.
[00:40:24] Yeah, which is an option that, you know,
[00:40:26] surprisingly, a lot of the students I work with don't think about that.
[00:40:30] But, you know, I think it's a first line of funding is to get out there
[00:40:35] and get some sales before a bank or will lend you money
[00:40:38] or or an investor will invest. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
[00:40:42] I think I think it's also interesting, you know, the time we're living in.
[00:40:46] I notice like a lot of millennials and stuff.
[00:40:48] It is it's it's kind of like they're looking for something instead of,
[00:40:51] like, really like putting the feet to the ground and doing it.
[00:40:54] So it's it's, you know, an interesting world we're living in now.
[00:40:58] But I'm the same.
[00:40:59] I mean, I always just worked really hard and, you know, and,
[00:41:02] and, you know, the sales is a big thing,
[00:41:04] especially if you already have a product that you can sell.
[00:41:07] Well, then, yeah, you can do you.
[00:41:09] You're the salesperson.
[00:41:11] Yeah, it's the shark tank. Exactly.
[00:41:13] I don't exactly. Yeah.
[00:41:15] But now you had a background in sales, right?
[00:41:17] So did that serve you well as an entrepreneur?
[00:41:20] You know, I definitely think so because I, you know,
[00:41:24] you know, we do different like when we bring,
[00:41:27] you know, employees into our company, we we do personality testing
[00:41:30] and things like that just to make sure we're putting the person
[00:41:33] in the right seat on the bus.
[00:41:35] And I think that's what a lot of business owners do have to look at, too.
[00:41:39] You know, who are you hiring and where are you putting them in your company?
[00:41:43] Because there's a lot of great people, but maybe they're in the wrong seat.
[00:41:46] You know, so I think, you know, we use the disk assessment
[00:41:50] and that has served us really well.
[00:41:51] It actually helps you also communicate with your team and my team also.
[00:41:55] You know, they they all have job descriptions where, you know, they write,
[00:41:58] you know, just five to eight bullet points of what they cover.
[00:42:01] And every year they they rate themselves on that.
[00:42:04] I don't rate them. They're rating themselves because as a business owner
[00:42:08] and a leader, I am doing them a disservice if they're not growing
[00:42:11] in their work or in their personal lives.
[00:42:14] We're here to lead and so that they can grow.
[00:42:17] But I think it's really important to get the right people in your company.
[00:42:20] If you if you're not the salesperson, then find somebody who can.
[00:42:24] And the great thing about salespeople is they most of them work
[00:42:26] just off full commission.
[00:42:27] So it's not like anything out of your pocket because they're selling
[00:42:30] and they're just getting a percent of that.
[00:42:32] Yeah. So you've already mentioned a couple of times about failure.
[00:42:36] And and failure is, I think, part of every success journey.
[00:42:41] So I'm curious if if you have a failure story or some thoughts on failure
[00:42:47] and how you've approached it times, maybe a time, maybe when you thought
[00:42:51] about giving up but didn't. Yeah.
[00:42:54] And what that means for you.
[00:42:55] You know, I'm trying to think which time, you know, it's it's it's
[00:43:00] it's you know, the word failure, it is sometimes so strong, right?
[00:43:03] Because when you're in it, you're like, oh, gosh, how am I going to get out of this?
[00:43:06] But then when you look back, you're like, oh, that was actually
[00:43:08] a really great opportunity.
[00:43:11] I think really probably the most recent was just when I left my career at Tony Robbins
[00:43:17] and, you know, I didn't have anything lined up.
[00:43:18] I was just like, you know, had a lot of trust and faith, I guess.
[00:43:23] And, you know, it was hard to leave there because, you know,
[00:43:27] a lot of relationships ended.
[00:43:29] And, you know, that's part of business, too, that, you know, people aren't prepared
[00:43:34] for where they're like, oh, I thought, you know, we were all, you know, family.
[00:43:37] And it's like, you know, some relationships, you know, serve a serve a time.
[00:43:41] And then and then you're, you know, move on to other things
[00:43:44] and some serve a longer time, which is beautiful.
[00:43:46] But, you know, I really think that that point I was, you know,
[00:43:51] I didn't know what I was going to do.
[00:43:53] And like we said, it was during the pandemic.
[00:43:55] And I just kind of got, you know, really quiet and wrote a lot.
[00:43:59] And and I followed my heart in what I felt there was a need for
[00:44:03] just from my experience and my work.
[00:44:05] And that's, you know, the things started coming.
[00:44:09] And I was more clear.
[00:44:11] I think when you're go, go, go all the time,
[00:44:13] you miss opportunities because you're not present.
[00:44:16] And I think the slower we can go, the more awareness that we have.
[00:44:22] That I like that.
[00:44:23] And I think there's there's a book out called Serendipity.
[00:44:27] And sometimes we sometimes opportunities are just right in front of us.
[00:44:33] Right.
[00:44:33] Like you said, we're not paying attention.
[00:44:37] Yeah.
[00:44:37] I guess when we slow down, then that serendipity starts to.
[00:44:42] Yeah.
[00:44:43] And it's like, you know, I think especially business owners
[00:44:45] and entrepreneurs are so focused on go, go, go, go, go.
[00:44:50] You know that it's hard to slow down, but it's actually critical
[00:44:55] to succeed and to move forward into again, it's that awareness factor
[00:45:00] that, you know, if you're in survival mode all the time in your business
[00:45:04] and in your in your life, then you're you're you are not going to have
[00:45:08] the awareness to see any opportunities because you're just basically
[00:45:10] keeping your head above water.
[00:45:12] Yeah.
[00:45:13] Yeah.
[00:45:14] So I'm curious about, you know, if we if we kind of go back
[00:45:19] to your best life now and somebody might be listening to this,
[00:45:24] you know, are your clients businesses of all sizes or is there a sweet spot there
[00:45:30] for for what you actually have?
[00:45:32] We have people who everyone has already has a business, so it's not someone
[00:45:37] who just has an idea.
[00:45:39] We have kind of an entry level program that we're designing now
[00:45:45] for people who just kind of have an idea, but they need to get some
[00:45:48] some things in place and that's going to be an online course
[00:45:51] that we're going to be launching in April.
[00:45:54] But for your best life, these people, yeah, they're already business
[00:45:57] owners or businesses have already been running for a few years.
[00:46:01] We have people, you know, who have, you know, smaller businesses
[00:46:07] than we have people, you know, who are millionaires and some billionaires.
[00:46:11] So it's it is a diverse group, but but most of them are already,
[00:46:17] you know, they're already they're already operating,
[00:46:21] but they just need to to fine tune some stuff.
[00:46:25] Yeah. And from a pricing perspective, that's another topic we could have
[00:46:29] talked about because finding your right price is often very challenging.
[00:46:33] But do you have a do you have levels of pricing or?
[00:46:36] No, we have one price.
[00:46:37] So the membership itself is we have two options.
[00:46:41] You can either pay it in full for the year and that's $24,000
[00:46:45] or we have a monthly membership, which is $2,500 a month.
[00:46:48] So you save about six grand if you pay it in full.
[00:46:51] And then each of the trips are separate.
[00:46:54] So the trips run anywhere from five thousand dollars to ten thousand dollars,
[00:46:57] depending where we're going.
[00:46:59] But that includes everything.
[00:47:00] You just got to get your flight there and that includes your accommodations,
[00:47:03] you know, your excursions, the content, you know, your meals.
[00:47:08] So that's the overall pricing structure of it.
[00:47:11] Yeah.
[00:47:11] Yeah. And most people join as a business, right?
[00:47:15] It's a tax write off.
[00:47:17] Right. Right.
[00:47:18] And a lot of people are looking for that.
[00:47:20] So, yeah, they it's it's designed for, you know, people joining as a business.
[00:47:27] But it's also, you know, a lot of families and relationships,
[00:47:30] because what I noticed in my past in a lot of different networking groups
[00:47:34] is one person would have a membership.
[00:47:37] And, you know, sometimes in families, that's a struggle where one person
[00:47:41] is going to events and traveling and the spouse is home
[00:47:44] and they're not growing together where we really saw a need for that
[00:47:47] and wanted this to be inclusive so that, you know, your families,
[00:47:51] we have some people that bring their kids on all the trips.
[00:47:53] So that it's really it is it's a community.
[00:47:57] Well, I love that you take a holistic approach
[00:47:59] because many entrepreneurs lose their families
[00:48:03] in the process of building a business.
[00:48:05] So what a great value proposition you provide with that alone,
[00:48:10] much less all the other things that you do.
[00:48:12] So Megan, if I were to ask you, if you had one piece of advice
[00:48:16] for our audience, knowing that many of them are entrepreneurs out there,
[00:48:20] either just getting started or trying to grow their business,
[00:48:25] what would that be?
[00:48:26] I would tell them to find a group or a coach.
[00:48:30] And, you know, even if they don't have any a lot of money starting out,
[00:48:32] it's like even, you know, listening to podcasts,
[00:48:35] listen, there's so much information out there at our fingertips right now
[00:48:39] that you don't even need to pay for it.
[00:48:41] But find yourself a mentor that's doing what you want to do
[00:48:45] because that's what you're going to follow.
[00:48:47] And then you start there and you just start implementing.
[00:48:49] And really, again, writing, you know, getting your goals in place
[00:48:53] and measuring them, you know, if you're just have an idea
[00:48:56] and you don't measure it and don't manage it,
[00:48:58] then it's never going to happen.
[00:48:59] But find yourself a mentor and get really clear on your vision
[00:49:03] and your goals and then you're going to grow from there.
[00:49:05] And then you can join a peer group, a networking group or get a coach.
[00:49:09] And that's I mean, I don't care how successful you are.
[00:49:12] Everyone needs a mentor.
[00:49:13] And there are so many resources out there.
[00:49:15] And I have found over the years that most entrepreneurs,
[00:49:19] really successful people are very generous with their time.
[00:49:22] Absolutely.
[00:49:23] They love it.
[00:49:24] Because like I said earlier, it's like it's a compliment, you know?
[00:49:27] And when you reach a level of success, you know,
[00:49:30] I always, you know, the secret to living is giving.
[00:49:32] So it's like, you know, you want to give back
[00:49:35] and you want to help that person who's starting out.
[00:49:37] And it's a beautiful gift.
[00:49:40] Yes, absolutely.
[00:49:41] Well, Megan, I thank you for your time today
[00:49:44] and generously sharing your story and more about what you're doing.
[00:49:49] And if any of our listeners would like to connect with you,
